How christmas cards get generated

Seasonal cards are a once-a-year deadline that always arrives compressed. The client list has grown, the design was approved late, and every card needs the recipient's name on it. This is a batch job by nature: one design, one spreadsheet, everything rendered in a single pass, either printed and posted or emailed. The thing worth setting up properly the first year is the data, not the artwork — a clean list with a name column and a company column will still be usable next December when the design has changed completely. Businesses sending on behalf of a named account manager add a sender field so the card comes from a person rather than a brand.

In practice: One CSV, one batch, done in an afternoon — print-ready PDF for posted cards, PNG for emailed ones.

Fields you'd usually bind

{{recipient_name}}
Client, customer or employee name.
{{company}}
Their organisation, for business-to-business sends.
{{sender_name}}
The account manager or team the card comes from.
{{year}}
Kept as data so the design survives into next season.

Any text, image, QR code or barcode on the canvas can become a variable — these are just the ones this category tends to use.
